Local Knowledge
Auckland is New Zealand’s biggest city and home to more than 1.3 million people. A cloak of rainforest covers the surrounding hills, dozens of dormant volcanic cones dot the landscape and enchanting holiday islands are scattered throughout the vast Hauraki Gulf. It is a culturally diverse city with strong European, Maori, Pacific Island and Asian influences. With a temperate climate, Auckland can reach temperatures of over 30 degrees in the summer months; it is however also known for presenting four seasons in one day as far as weather goes. Be sure to pack for all weather conditions if spending time in this big city.

Experience the charming coastal setting of the North Shore. Just 45 minutes drive from Auckland International Airport the North Shore of Auckland is full of beautiful bays and cafes and is a relaxing and more laid back place to stay if you are visiting the big city. From the vibrant bars and restaurants of Takapuna to the beautiful isolation of Long Bay there is something for everyone whether you want to live it up or just sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery.
